Alex Wilding BSc, MSc, MBPsS

Founder / Facilitator

Alex Wilding is a BACP Integrative Arts Counsellor with an MSc in Psychology and is a published academic. As the innovative force behind Scrapsi, Alex brings over a decade of experience working with young people. Through his professional journey, Alex has consistently observed how young people, particularly teenagers, often feel lost in a world that appears daunting and overwhelming. His vision for Scrapsi is to facilitate sessions that empower these individuals to navigate through their challenges towards a place of great hope. With the landscape of opportunities expanding, Alex believes that realising dreams is possible, provided one can discern what those dreams are. His approach is deeply respectful and inclusive, especially towards those with neurodivergence and individuals from minority backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ and ethnic minorities.

FAQ's

What the heck is 'Scrap-book style'?

Great question! This is the uniqueness of our offering. As our trained facilitator takes your child through their session, they will go over each area of Maslows hierarchy (see below). And for each section, your child will choose images which represent their needs.

E.g. if they feel they need to play lots of football to feel good about themselves, they'll find an image which represents that e.g. an image of a football, or their favourite player.

By the end of the session, they'll have a 'Scrapsi'; a visual representation of all of their needs, which they can use as they wish e.g. save it somewhere, share it with parents/friends, or even put it away and see how they respond to it in our next session.
